That's Fibro for you

How heres the thing, until I saw a letter I had sent to Woman Alive magazine, I had forgotten all about this blog :) I had also forgotten about sending the letter in, oh my what a state to get into :)

Since my last entry in November 13, I have been busy knitting cardies for the grandchildren.  This month of Jan 14, I have my art on exhibition in our local library.  An art exhibition is something I have wanted to do ever since I started painting with a passion. When I can I will add some pictures of the exhibition to this blog...

New thoughts

New thoughts.....

A craft yes but not exactly of the making kind.

A story for children about a boy called Jamie and his wish to talk to God. He wants to know , how.....

My story will not only be a story it will have prayers and pictures

It will be good

It will be published

This is my future .....

On reflection

Having given it a lot of thought, I won't on this occasion be sending a poem in to United Press for their 2014 year book.  This won't stop me writting poetry it just means that I'm not really up for paying out to see my work in print.  More to be added to my websites :) Perhaps I should do just a poetry website, now there's a thought.

I have enough poems that's for sure, it is only a time thing.  Using Weebly.com the website is free and easy to use. It would still get my poetry out to the world with no extra cost to me, can't be bad......

Whatch this space for news to follow........

Catch up day

Well today has been, as said in the title, a catch up day.

I wanted to update my poetry folders. Folders because there are now two and to my astonishment I have in fact, written 702 poems since starting to write poetry in 2005.

They have been over the years, a mixture of funny, sad and what I call, heavenly. In the main they have taken on how I am feeling when putting pen to paper. Me being me I have kept a running index sheet around their title, if they have been published and of course the day they were written.

Published in that I have been lucky enough to have my poems now in several anthologies by United Press. Why only today I received in the post a letter inviting me to take part in their Poets of the Year 2014. Strange but true.

I have slowed down in my actual poetry writting but I am always pleased when a new one comes to mind and I simply have to put pen to paper.

I was really pleased recently when my step great grandson Bradley had a poem published with his school.

With the invitation letter coming and my picking this day to update my folders, I have to say yes.....

Day two

Hi World

Day two of this blogging lark, email under construction to Women Alive magazine. A) thanking them for showing me blogging and B) telling them of my Fibro and my crafts.

Art class today, only for a morning so should cope.  I know from experience I will pain something chronic for the rest of the day but even if I did nothing I would pain so why not actually do something I like to do.

I had stopped the Fareham art class which was only once a month on a saturday morning, but then realised I actually missed going.  Well I had been going to that  one since 2008. I made them up a mini website under www.drawingandpaintingfromnature.weebly.com   on that site each of the ladies has their own page and each month I take pictures of their work and post it for them on the site.

With the Denmead group things are slightly different in that there are about 24 of us that attend every fortnight, so a page each would be rather a lot of work for me.  Not that I would mind of course.  Their site is www.denmeadartgroup.weebly.com  They are both made if that is the way to put it, using Weebly.  Its a free website builder and one easily used, lucky for me.

Its a 'please yourself' session today, that means we can take in whatever we are working on and just share what we are doing.  I am in the middle of one of my 'full on' art pieces. Let me explain - when I first started to draw I found I was getting though a lot of paper so I thought why not put lots of different pictures on one piece of paper.  Of course it needed to be a rather large pad, A2 in fact, works for me.  So now when I feel the want to draw I use the A2 pad and lots of different pictures, take what I want from each picture and put it on the pad, a sort of compilation.

Perhaps I should see if I can add a photo to the blog :) next challenge. Wow that worked, now you, I hope, can see what I mean by 'full on'.

Here goes

Well hello world.  This is my first blog ever so be kind to me :)

What to blog, that is the question?

I suppose I wanted to share that even though I have fibromyalgia it does not rule my life completely, even though it trys it's best to.

The only time I find some pain relief is when I am crafting, be it drawing, knitting, crocheting, baking, writing children's stories, etc etc etc....

This Fibro thing has been with me for many years now but only actually came to a life changing event in 2010 when it was actually diagnosed. I found myself at rock bottom and it still has an unwelcombed grip on my life.

The good news is that I now find myself even more creative than ever. Yes I've always, when time permitted, done my crafts but nowadays it's more of a life consuming passion.

When awake and able I find I am at a loss of choosing which particular craft to do.  Only yesterday I had a clear out of the corner by my chair, well it was getting rather over crowded and untidy with wool, kneedles, boxes of buttons etc. so something had to give.  Up in the loft it all, well nearly all went. I did keep one crochet blanket that I am still working on by my side :)
